- Wednesday July 6 we will rehearse at the Rose Garden at Idlewild Park which is very close to Reno High School. The Rose Garden is behind the big American Indian wood carving in the park and right at the Peace Officer’s memorial. Enter the park from Idlewild Drive at the lake with the fountain. The Garden is on the left. Here’s a map. There is lots of parking right in front of the garden. Construction work is to begin at the High School so it is unavailable.
- We are working on two new songs. You should be off the music on The Rhythm of Love and beginning your second week with Good By World. Those of us who have to learn a lot of songs (Brigade) focus on repetition with the learning tracks.
- We sing at the Aces ballgame again on July 20. Our first perfomance in June was a huge success both socially and financially. Thank you Sam Hardt for helping with arrangements. Sam will have more ticket information at Wednesday’s rehearsal. If you have a spouse or friend going who has a nice camera, we are interested in obtaining quality shots of the chorus and especially us on the jumbo tron.
- Dave and Charlotte Clark have invited all chorus members and their families to a barbecue pool party at his house on July 10. The fun will take place at 7456 Brothers Lane, Washoe Valley beginning at 3:00 PM. Here’s a map. Please RSVP if possible at 775-882-5370. Please see or call Dave for additional details.
- Please save the date of July 25 for a fun visit to the High Desert Harmony Sweet Adelines chapter here in Reno. We will visit them from 8:00-9:30 at their rehearsal location at Five Star Residences on 3201 Plumas St. Here’s a map. This is where we used to rehearse for several years. Please bring your spouses/friends so that they can see the music opportunities with this group. Then, on August 10, the High Desert Harmony ladies and their friends will join us at our rehearsal. We are going to learn some tags so we can do some mixed quartet singing.
