The Silver Dollar Chorus and High Desert Harmony Chorus will present a free barbershop music celebration, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Reno Public Market. Donations of $10 are requested.
The Silver Dollar Chorus, directed by Dave Gaunt, has been entertaining the northern Nevada community since the 1970s. The chorus has performed at Reno Aces and University of Nevada, Reno games and events at the National Bowling Stadium as well as the Great Reno Balloon Race and Reno Air Races. The Silver Dollar Chorus is a local chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
The High Desert Harmony Chorus, directed by Amy Fleming, features 25singers from throughout northern Nevada who enjoy four-part a cappella Harmony. The chorus has been a chapter of Sweet Adelines International since 2004.
