- We will sing the National Anthem at the Aces Ball Game on Wednesday, June 22. For those who can participate in the sound check, please meet at the ticket booth in front of the stadium at 5:15. For those who can’t, please meet at the ticket booth by 6:30. Please be early to help keep the flow on time. The uniform is Class C – black pants, short sleeve maroon shirt, black shoes, black belt, and enormous smile. Please warm up your voice on the way as we will not have a lot of warm up time. This is a great social event for the chorus with the added benefit that we get to sing for three minutes in front of several thousand locals. We look forward to having some hey batter, hey batter, swing, after we sing! If you didn’t get tickets to sell to friends, or need some more, please contact Sam Hardt at 775-230-0580 or [email protected]. Steve will have plenty of business cards to share with all of us to pass out to men who are jealous of the sound we make and the fun we have.
- All singing members should be working on the new song Rhythm of Love. Members must be off the music by the rehearsal on June 29. At that rehearsal, we will pass out the next new song for a three week learning period. Both songs will be introduced on the September show. As Brigade singers know, coming prepared is very powerful and leads to truly amazing results. A group of ordinary singers like us who learn their music solidly results in a chorus that could challenge the top choruses in the society. Not coming prepared leads to train wrecks, as we call them in Brigade. If you are interested in hearing what the Brigade and Platoon have proven for the value of preparation, speak to your riser buddies. There are several SDC members involved in Brigades and Platoons.
